Revealed: Where mystery $30m Powerball winner bought lucky ticket

The hunt continues for the mystery winner of a $30 million Powerball jackpot prize as more details emerge surrounding the incredible win.

The ticket holder didn’t register their division one winning entry for Thursday’s Powerball draw and could be completely unaware they’ve won millions.

The entry was sold at Sorrell Hub Lotto in Sorrell, Hobart, The Lott said in a statement on Saturday.

Sorrell Hub Lotto owner Dean Silver said it’s the biggest division one win ever sold in Tasmania.

Tatts spokesperson Bronnie Spencer said winners often have no idea they are new millionaires.

“One winner confessed to having the winning ticket in his back pocket the whole time while another revealed it had been stuck on the fridge for days before someone checked it,” she said.

“Most recently, one winner came forward after a family member nagged her to check her tickets so make sure you encourage all friends and family to check theirs, too!”

The winning numbers in Thursday’s draw were 20, 6, 30, 17, 8, 10 and 2, while the all-important Powerball number was 8.

Ms Spencer urged any potential winners to get in touch as soon as possible.
