Restaurant forced to close after car crashes into front window

A Thai restaurant has been forced to shut after a car hit its front window.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called at 00:15 on Sunday to reports of the crash in Northdown Road, Margate.

A spokesperson said the service was there to assist Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb).

A social media post from TY-8 restaurant said it would be closed until further notice.

The restaurant said on its Facebook page : "Thank you for your condolences. Our family is safe and unharmed."

Images shared on the restaurant's page show two cars outside the restaurant, one of them having broken a large window at its front.
