Reporter attacked after approaching controversial TikTok doctor

A TV reporter has been attacked outside a Bondi Cafe while waiting to interview a cosmetic surgeon who has a big following on social media.

An unnamed man lashed out at A Current Affair Reporter Steve Marshall after he approached Dr Daniel Aronov about allegations of "cowboy surgery practises".

The camera operator captured the violent confrontation, which shows the man in an orange shirt appear to shove Marshall into a wall before striking him twice in the side of the head.

"You headbutted my hand," the man can be heard saying.

Dr Aronov continued to enjoy his breakfast with his wife inside the cafe while the unprovoked assault unfolded.

In a statement to A Current Affair through his lawyer, Dr Aronov said: "I had nothing to do with that incident, I did not provoke or incite it, I do not condone it".

Dr Aronov's practises attract media scrutiny

The doctor shot to social media stardom with 13 million TikTok followers after posting dozens of viral dancing videos in and around the surgeries he performed.

But some patients have come forward with complaints about their procedures by Dr Aronov, A Current Affair reported.

Dr Aronov was previously performing procedures at the once popular Dr Lanzer Clinics, which have been the subject of intense scrutiny with the ABC Four Corners program airing serious allegations of dangerous practises.

The heath regulator AHPRA has since launched an investigation into the now disgraced clinics.

The ABC report did not raise any concerns about Dr Aronov.

Last week, the ABC reported one of his patients, who had undergone liposuction, was taken to hospital in a critical condition suffering significant blood loss.

Dr Aronov recommended an ambulance be called immediately and helped paramedics attend to the patient.

He opened a new TikTok account in June after his previous one was banned by the platform.
