Human remains found in a paddock in Melbourne's southeast are thought to be a 26-year-old man last seen alive one month ago.
Detectives from the missing persons squad made the discovery in a semi-rural area near Nixon Road at Lysterfield on Wednesday afternoon.
While formal identification is yet to take place, police on Thursday said they believe the deceased is a 26-year-old Oakleigh South man, last seen on May 11.
His death is being treated as suspicious.
