Urgent recall of children's bedding sold at popular retailer

A children’s duvet cover and pillowcase set has been recalled over strangulations concerns.

The ACCC announced the bedding can become an entrapment or strangulation hazard if the trim on the bedding detaches.

Customers who purchased the Magical Woodland Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set in the colours pink and teal from online store Next Retail are advised to stop using the bedding immediately.

The two designs were sold nationally online between September 5, 2019 and November 30, 2020.

When the products were recalled in the UK last year a Next spokesperson told The Sun the products didn't meet the company's strict standards.

"As the Magical Woodland Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Sets don’t meet our strict technical specifications, we’ve taken the precaution of recalling them and request that you return the item to us immediately for a full refund," the spokesperson said.

Customers are able to return the product for a full refund and can do so by contacting Next Retail to arrange a return.
