Rebel Wilson stuns as she confirms new romance
Rebel Wilson has revealed there is a new man in her life after claiming she had once dated "about 50 people in one year".
The Aussie actress exposed details of her love life on the U Up? podcast, revealing she had recently met a man through a mutual friend.
"He had known both of us for at least five years and he thought we would hit it off – and then we did!" she said.
"I think that escalates things quicker, meeting someone from a trusted source.
"I can trust that they are who they say they are, which is something that you don't really know on the [dating] apps."
The How to be Single star added she had dated around 50 people in a year to get in character for her role in the 2016 comedy.
"But some of them were just one date and then you think, 'Oh, no'," she told the podcast.
Rebel admitted prolifically that dating helped her to understand what she liked and didn't like, and in 2019 –during her "Year of Love" – the actress said she dated a variety of different people.
"I went on some dates with some billionaires and then also some people who had nothing. It was the full spectrum of people," she said.
Rebel added there was one dating app match she was however unsure about, and decided to trust her gut and undertake a quick background check.
"The last person I went out with on the app, I did get the FBI to, like, check them out, just to make sure there was, like, nothing… and there was actually something in their past," Rebel said.
"It was an assault charge.
"I just sensed that something wasn't right."
Rebel added during her "Year of Love" she was 39 and really wanted a relationship.
"But I had only had a few small relationships, so I had to just get more practise in dating," she said.

While Rebel remains tight-lipped about the identity of her new love interest, many have speculated she had been dating tennis star Matt Reid.
They have been spotted together on a number of occasions, including on the AACTA Awards red carpet and at the US Open.
In December, almost a year after splitting with boyfriend Jacob Busch, the Herald Sun reported that whispers in the tennis world suggested the pair "could be more than just friends".
Rebel stunned in a green sequin gown as she attended the premiere for her new movie Senior Year on Tuesday night. The off-shoulder dress showed off her slim figure after she lost about 35kg during her "Year of Health".
