Two men have appeared in court charged with the abduction and sexual assault of a woman in Melbourne.
Harley Jarthur Palise, 26, and Jarrod Vincent Thomas, 23, are both charged with rape, unlawful imprisonment and assault after allegedly picking the woman up in a car at Carlton in the early hours of June 17.
They have also been charged with stealing the victim's $16,000 diamond ring.
Melbourne Magistrates Court was on Tuesday told Thomas had been in custody without his anti-anxiety medication for several days.
Neither man applied for bail and they were remanded to reappear in court on October 19.
They are accused of abducting the woman while she waited for her friend who had gone into a nearby convenience store, according to earlier police statements.
