British teenager Emma Raducanu has gained a remarkable 127 spots in the world rankings released by the WTA to reach 23rd after her shock US Open victory.

The 18-year-old became the first qualifier to win a grand slam when she defeated Canadian fellow teen Leylah Fernandez in New York.

Fernandez, 19, moved up 45 places to 28th following her final defeat.

Raducanu first made an impression as a Wimbledon wildcard earlier this summer but has yet to play a single regular tournament on the WTA Tour.

Australia's Ash Barty remains world No.1 on a best 10,075 points ahead of Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus on 7,720.
