'Struggling': Family's heartbreak after girl, 3, dies in drowning tragedy

A family has shared their grief over the drowning death of a 3-year-old girl in Bundaberg.

Evangeline-Laura Watts-Marshall, also known as Evie, has been described as “too precious for this world” by her sister in a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for the toddler’s funeral.

“She passed away yesterday (Saturday) after a tragic accident the family is struggling to pay for the funeral,” Alyshia Marshall wrote.

Queensland Ambulance were called to a property at Moorland at 10.16am (local time) on Saturday following a post-immersion incident and transported the toddler to Bundaberg Hospital in a critical condition.

The family have chosen not to disclose further details of her death.

Ms Marshall wrote her sister “has grown her wings and left us with her beautiful cheeky smile and gorgeous blue eyes in our hearts with also the great memories”.

Tributes for Evie have poured in from locals, loved ones and strangers shaken by the little girl’s death.

“How terribly sorry I am to hear of this tragic accident sending love and strength to all the family at this hard time,” one person wrote.

“Rest In Peace Beautiful Princess,” another person commented.

“Angels took you way too soon beautiful girl,” a Facebook user wrote.

“All the funds that will and have been raised will be going towards to give her the most beautiful funeral there is possible for such a beautiful little girl,” Ms Marshall wrote.
