A 35-year-old man has been charged with setting off homemade soda bottle bombs in Brisbane's southwest.

The bombs - made by mixing vinegar with baking soda - have caused property damage at Springfield and Redbank Plains since March and police said it was lucky no one was injured.

The man was arrested on Thursday and faces 13 counts of unlawful dealing with explosive substance.
