Shock find in stairs as Queensland police raid man's home

A man has been charged with multiple offences after police claim they found a stash of drugs and weapons hidden under his stairs.

Footage of Queensland Police recently raiding a Frenchville home in Rockhampton shows an officer peel back the carpet on the top stair and remove a piece of wood that was acting like a lid.

Another officer can be seen coming over to inspect what was inside.

Queensland Police allege they found two sawn off shotguns, five shotgun rounds, a set of knuckledusters, various illicit drugs and $24,000 in cash during the search on November 6.

The 20-year-old man has been hit with various weapons and drugs charges, including possessing explosives, utensils or pipes that had been used, tainted property and possessing property suspected of being used in the connection with the commission of a drug offence.

He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 13.
