A man has been charged following a siege at a Surfers Paradise apartment complex.
Police were called just before 4pm on Wednesday following reports of an armed man in a unit with a woman and a child.
It is alleged the 36-year-old man then climbed from the balcony of the unit to the unit below and damaged a window. Officers moved in and arrested the man after they had evacuated a 33-year-old woman and a four-year-old child from the unit.
A number of replica firearms were allegedly located at the premises. The man has been charged to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on March 26.
