Queensland cop killers post haunting video online after shooting

A couple involved in the shooting ambush that left two Queensland police officers and a neighbour dead appear to have posted a video online just hours after the brutal attack, calling their victims "devils and demons".

Gareth Train, his wife Stacey Train and brother Nathaniel Train shot dead Constables Matthew Arnold, 26, and Rachel McCrow, 29, and their 58-year-old neighbour Alan Dare, at a rural property at Wieambilla in the Western Downs region on Monday.

It has since emerged that footage of a couple who look like Gareth and Stacey was reportedly posted on a now-deleted YouTube account titled Mrs Yugi Girawil about 7.40pm on Monday, four hours after the ambush.

“They came to kill us and we killed them. If you don't defend yourself against these devils and demons you're a coward,” the man says. “We'll see you when we get home. We'll see you at home, Don, love you,” the woman adds.

The couple are believed to have uploaded several videos documenting their life in the lead up to the tragic shooting, WA Today reports. They refer to themselves as Daniel and Jane, Gareth and Stacey’s middle names.

Footage posted prior to the ambush was titled “prepare for battle and be strangers on earth”. That same day, the YouTube account, which had a handful of followers, left a haunting comment on one of its previous clips.

“After dealing with covert agents and tactics for sometime now, Daniel believes that should they choose to cross the rubicon with public state actors our Father is giving us a clear sign,” it said, the publication reports.

Although the account was created in May, it wasn’t until November that videos began appearing on the page, news outlet Crikey reports. Nathanial Train, who was married to and had two children with Stacey before she left him for Gareth, does not appear in the footage, although it is understood the trio were living together at the rural property.

'The vultures will gather'

Meanwhile, a series of videos have emerged online from a YouTube account called Geronimo's Bones also referring to Gareth and Stacey as “Daniel and Jane”, which the account owner says in the comments is to protect their identities.

A bearded man with an American accent says “Jane” sent him and his wife a final message in the video posted on Friday. "Before all communication ceased between Daniel and I, the last words that Jane spoke to my wife and I were and I quote ‘where there is a corpse, the vultures will gather’,” he says in a video seen by Yahoo News Australia.

In another, now-deleted video from earlier this week called “Brother Sister Martyr”, the same man claims the Trains were “harassed” by authorities and police had gone to their property to arrest Nathaniel because he was going to reveal “extensive corruption”.

“Daniel and Jane are harassed and hunted because they would not give up a family member to that monster,” he claims. “And the point had arrived where they were going to come and take Daniel's brother by force under the guise of a wellness check, or ‘we're just looking for this missing person’.

“Even though this missing person, it had been established that there was no way there was any collusion on Daniel's part or on Jane's part, to leave any reason whatsoever for them to believe that Daniel's brother was on their property, their personal property. That is why Daniel and Jane did what they had to do.”

Fears shooters lured police to home

The American man’s comments come after The Australian revealed police are reportedly investigating if the three shooters lured the police officers to the property by using Nathanial, who was the subject of a missing person’s inquiry by NSW Police, as “bait”.

“They are looking at this possibility that they called NSW police and told them they ‘think they know where he is’,’’ a source told the publication. “NSW police acted on that and asked their Queensland counterparts to look into it as part of a routine missing persons’ inquiry.”

The Queensland Police Union revealed the Trains had been stockpiling weapons, which were registered interstate, and set up a sophisticated video surveillance system, which they believe was aimed at “taking out police”.

Police have been trying to identify the motive for the lethal attack and have traced the brothers’ online activities, including posts in the name of Gareth, that featured a mix of conspiracy theory-laden material.

Family of female cop killer speaks out

Stacey’s family broke their silence on Friday, describing a strained relationship with the former teacher, who reportedly left her role after refusing to get a mandatory Covid vaccine.

According to The Guardian, Stacey had little contact with her family because of Gareth’s “controlling” behaviour.

“I knew Gareth was an arsehole when he took over his brother’s wife,” a family member told the publication. “It was all downhill from there. Now she is dead because of them.”
