Serial rapist described as 'a woman's worst nightmare' jailed for 20 years
A night stalker who broke into the homes of women and raped them has been jailed for 20 years.
The 51-year-old managed to evade police for nearly a decade.
Serial rapist Jason Juan Burr pleaded guilty at Southport District Court to 18 charges, including 10 counts of rape, over an eight-year period.
Burr broke into the homes of women he didn't know at night while they slept.
His vile crimes began back in 2008, when he broke in to a home at Coombabah and sexually assaulted a woman in her bedroom.
He didn't strike again until November 2015, when he confronted a woman in her Springwood home before restraining and threatening to sexually assault her, then fleeing.
Two months later he forced his way into a Sunnybank house and raped his next victim.
In Febuary 2016 he climbed through the window on a Southport home and raped a fourth woman.
Burr was finally arrested in January 2017, when his DNA was found after he indecently touched a young girl.
Judge Julie Dick today told the court "there was a significant amount of calculation" in Burr's offending and that his crimes were "a woman's worst nightmare."
It's a nightmare that is not over for Burr's victims.
He will be eligible for parole in 2032.
