What a $22m beach house looks like: Inside stunning Sunshine Coast home

A Sunshine Coast home has sold with a record $22 million price tag.

The beachfront house on Webb Road, Sunshine Beach went on the market for $22m making it the most expensive Queensland property sold in the past year.

It features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a four-car garage, is about 40 metres from the beach and has a full-size tennis court. Guests can also stay in a separate self-contained cottage.

According to CoreLogic's sale records, only a property at Mermaid Beach on the Gold Coast has sold for more in the past 24 months at $25m.

The home also sold for three times what it was originally purchased for. IT entrepreneur Daniel Wallis bought it for $7m in 2011.

Listing agent Nic Hunter of Tom Offermann Real Estate said the person who purchased the home, who can't be named due to a non-disclosure agreement, "thought it was absolutely wonderful" and bought the home after a two-hour inspection.

"We've had seven inspections over the past three weeks and a lot of them happened during the January holiday period," Mr Hunter said.

"A lot of ex-pats and high-end tourists love Noosa."

Mr Hunter said he had built a relationship with a number of clients and one of them was successful in the purchase - one that is "very rare to see on the market".

He added he could not say the exact figure the property sold for but expected sales like this one and that of retired Australian tennis player Pat Rafter to boost the profile of Noosa's property market. Rafter's home at Sunshine Beach sold for $18 million just two weeks ago.
