'Non-suspicious' death suddenly becomes murder investigation
The death of a Queensland man originally considered to be non-suspicious has escalated into a murder investigation.
A week after he was found dead in his unit, forensic tests revealed that young dad James Switez-Glowacz met with foul play.
The 36-year-old's body was found in his Wynnum West unit last Thursday.
Police initially suspected the death was from self-harm, revealing that he was known to them and had a history of mental health problems.
After a post-mortem revealed James died with serious injuries, the investigation switched focus.
On Facebook, James' father posted: "I loved my son immensely and I'll miss him so much.
"He leaves a beautiful 5 year old daughter who'll be the focus of all our family's love."
Neighbours say James had been living alone in the two bedroom flat for the past ten months but was often visited by a woman and his young daughter.
Acquaintances are now being quizzed as the hunt begins for a killer.
