A body believed to be of a man missing from far north Queensland since last year has been found.

The 37-year-old went missing from Cairns on December 30, with initial searches finding no trace of him.

A 4WD belonging to the man was found at a cattle property northeast of Mount Isa on Wednesday evening, sparking a renewed search centred on the area.

Police say initial indications are there are no suspicious circumstances, with forensic officers to formally identify the body and prepare a report for the coroner.
