A young woman has been banned from buying a dog for two years after she pleaded guilty to repeatedly kicking a dog and sharing a video of the attack on social media.
Claire Elizabeth West filmed herself kicking the canine several times and making threats near the central Queensland town of Rockhampton on Saturday.
The 17-year-old then shared the video on a social media app.
The RSPCA and Queensland police were alerted to the vision after others distributed it on additional social media sites, including the Rockhampton and Gracemere Crime Watch and Public Announcements Facebook page.
West appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday where she pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty.
She was banned from buying a dog for two years and given a two-year probation order.
