Gang of police impersonators on the run following home invasion

A violent gang, dressed as police officers, are on the run after a home invasion in Queensland.

The fake cops handcuffed two terrified Forest Lake residents together before ransacking their home.

The group arrived at Justin Miles’s home on Tuesday about 1pm, demanding to execute a search warrant.

Mr Miles said he could tell “straight away” they weren’t police so he asked for identification.

That’s when the fake cop got angry, up to three accomplices stormed through the back door, and Mr Miles, along with his 24-year-old stepson, were handcuffed and tied together on the floor.

“(They were) stomping on my head, standing on the back of my neck, made me chip a tooth,” Mr Miles said.

“The one that was standing on my head kept saying he could only keep the other fella calm for so long.”

The fake cops then spent an hour raiding the home and demanding cash and drugs.

Mr Miles said he had never met the gang before and had no idea who they were, but they pretended to know him and called out his full name from the front door.

The gang stole jewellery, phones and Mr Miles’s Holden SS Commodore, which was later dumped and torched at Logan Reserve man Mervyn Hodge’s property.

“There's something sick going on in the world today unfortunately,” Mr Hodge said.

“How can you explain it? These fellas have no value on their own property, much less anybody else’s.”

The thieves took off in another getaway car after dumping Mr Miles’s vehicle, which was uninsured.

“People work hard for what they have,” Mr Miles said.

“It's just disgusting that someone can come in and take it off you.”
