NEW FACES IN QUEENSLAND PARLIAMENT
* NICK DAMETTO - Newly elected Katter's Australian Party (KAP) member for Hinchinbrook.
Townsville small business owner Nick Dametto won the seat of Hinchinbrook in the 2017 election, taking out LNP's Andrew Cripps.
Mr Dametto spent 10 years in the mining and construction industry and in his early career completed a welding apprenticeship and worked on his dad's banana farm.
* STEPHEN ANDREW - Newly-elected Pauline Hanson's One Nation member for Mirani MP.
Stephen Andrew won the seat of Mirani becoming the only One Nation member in the Queensland parliament.
The licensed gun dealer and feral pest controller will become the leader of the party after Steve Dickson lost his seat in Buderim.
* MICHAEL BERKMAN - Newly-elected Greens member for Maiwar.
Michael Berkman won the seat of Maiwar in Brisbane, where the LNP took its highest casualty with the loss of Scott Emerson.
Mr Berkman is an environmental lawyer and scientist.
* SANDY BOLTON - Newly-elected Independent member for Noosa
Sandy Bolton is the only independent in the Queensland parliament, after winning the seat of Noosa in the 2017 election.
Prior to her candidacy, Ms Bolton was an NDIS project manager for disability services and a Noosa councillor for two years from 2014 to 2016. She also ran a cattle station in her 20s.
* CYNTHIA LUI - Newly-elected Labor member for Cook.
Cynthia Lui is the first Torres Strait Islander elected to office in Australia. She has worked in health, child protection and family support services throughout far north Queensland.
The seat of Cook was vacated by Billy Gordon, who was dumped by Labor after revelations of domestic violence and unpaid child support payments.
* DAVID CRISAFULLI - Newly-elected LNP member for Broadwater.
David Crisafulli won the seat of Gold Coast-based electorate Broadwater in the 2017 election. He was the member for Mundingburra in North Queensland from 2012 to 2015 and served as the local government minister under the Campbell Newman government.
Prior to entering state politics, Crisafulli was a Townsville City councillor and deputy mayor. He was previously a WIN TV journalist.
