The hunt continues for two men accused of shooting a Gold Coast man in the face outside his home.
The 36-year-old and a colleague were leaving for work from an Upper Coomera home on Thursday morning when a car pulled up and a man got out and shot at them, hitting the man in the eye.
The injured man and his workmate fled to a neighbour's yard and rang emergency services, and he was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Inspector Jim Plowman said on Thursday police are investigating whether there were any links to organised crime.
"I believe from the little information I have that these people are known to each other and this was certainly a targeted incident," he told reporters on the Gold Coast.
The man's family were not at home when the shooting occurred, and the offenders remain on the run as police urge anyone with information to come forward.
