Schoolies boast on Snapchat after trashing Surfers Paradise penthouse

Police are investigating a group of schoolies who are accused of trashing the penthouse of a Surfers Paradise hotel after they boasted about their efforts on Snapchat.

The damage bill is expected to be in the $10,000s after the school-leavers wreaked havoc on the room in the Mantra Sun City Resort on Surfers Paradise Boulevard.

Proudly documenting their destruction on social media, vision from inside the luxury penthouse showed smashed furniture, huge holes in several walls and a shopping trolley packed with plaster.

The teenagers were found by a hotel duty manager who threw them out and caller their parents.

But there were no smiles Saturday morning when 7 News tracked down those same teens outside the hotel, waiting to head home.

Still wearing the same clothes, one teen denied any involvement, blaming his mates instead.

“Nah I wasn't there when that happened,” he told 7 News.

Police received an official complaint from the hotel this morning, with the culprits facing potential charges of willful damage.

"When you've got this many kids, there's going to be some idiots," Schoolies official Mark Reaburn said.

They have already lost their bond money but the repair bill will much more than that.
