Search underway to find lucky Queensland winner of $10million Powerball jackpot

A lucky Queenslander could be $10 million richer and completely unaware of their newfound wealth.

The search is underway to find the multi-millionaire after there was only one division one winning entry in Thursday night's Powerball draw - which takes home the entire jackpot.

The fortunate punter bought their Powerball ticket at Springwood at the Chatswood Hills News & Casket Agency, but they have not come forward yet to claim their winnings.

Golden Casket spokesperson Matt Hart said anyone that bought a ticket at that store has “more than 10 million reasons ... to check, and double check, your entry”.

"The winning ticket may have been stashed away for safekeeping in a wallet, the car glovebox or be hiding in plain sight on the fridge door!” Mr Hart said.

Golden Casket officials are not able to reach out to the winner as the entry was not registered to a Winners Circle card.

The winning numbers in Thursday's Powerball draw were 39, 17, 36, 35, 27 and 33, with the Powerball being 7.

“Imagine winning more than $10 million dollars but not knowing it! Discovering you’re now a multi-millionaire is bound to change your plans for the weekend!" Mr Hart said.

Sony Dahiya, who owns the Chatswood Hills News & Casket Agency, was excited about selling the ticket to last night's winning entry.

“We hope our winning customer checks their ticket soon and discovers the happy news!” Mr Dahiya said.

He said it was not the first time a division one winning entry had been sold at the store, but the other prizes were smaller than this $10 milllion windfall.

Anyone who had an entry in last night's draw is urged to check their tickets as soon as possible.
