'What the f*** is this?': 'Yes' voter reveals terrifying moment her house was attacked

A Brisbane woman claims someone threw rocks at her house for putting up signs supporting marriage equality.

Larissa Baldwin, who shares a house in Woolloongabba, in Brisbane's east, with her friend Olivia Hill, took to Facebook after she claims someone smashed her front windows with rocks on Sunday night.

“I’m so angry, this is so f*****,” she posted.

“It’s so f***** there is glass everywhere in our house.

“But to be honest this violence doesn’t compare to what many people within the LGBTQIA community have gone through.”

Ms Hill, who was home sleeping at the time, said she was “a little scared and anxious” after the incident.

She said a man yelled homophobic slurs, “What the f*** is this? F****** f******!”"

"And then I heard the bangs with the glass shattering," Ms Hill said.

Her housemate said they wanted to make “a positive statement of solidarity” for the LGBTQIA community because everyday people are being “bombarded with hate, bigotry and ignorance”.

She has rainbow banners on her front windows, fence and stairwell with posts saying, “Equal love”, “It’s about love not about gender vote yes”, and “Vote yes 4 marriage equality”.

“We've had so many positive experiences over the last couple of weeks from people stopping to take selfies, people tooting horns (we're on a main road, it's basically an alarm clock), yelling out thank you, yelling out yes, leaving love letters in our mailbox, stopping us at the mailbox to tell us they're voting yes and knocking on our door to say hello,” Ms Baldwin posted.

But she said alongside the rock throwing, people have also sworn at her walking past the house, tried to take the signs down and on one occasion a guy stood next to her mailbox holding a “Vote no” sign at peak hour.

Despite the attack, Ms Baldwin said she and Ms Hill would not be taking the signs down.

“Love will win!” she posted.

The post has since received more than 400 shares and 1,200 likes with many showing their support.

"Saddens me that this happened to you," one user commented.

"So much senseless hatred being thrown around by people fearful of the unknown. Applaud your bravery and thank you for the support."

A police spokeswoman said officers went to the house just before midnight and two windows were found broken but no arrests have been made.

They are now seeking a male suspect dressed in black and appealed for information from the public.

Police say three other houses with rainbow flags were also targeted over the weekend, with three at Dutton Park in Brisbane's south vandalised by swastika graffiti.

In a statement, police said they were investigating whether the properties were directly targeted for having rainbow flags.
