Brisbane woman finds swastikas spray painted on her 'vote yes' decorations

A Brisbane woman has said she was left "wanting to cry" after waking up to find swastikas spray painted over her same-sex marriage decorations.

Jessica Lette-Garvey and her neighbour had hung rainbow flags out the front of their Dutton Park homes in support of voting 'Yes' for marriage equality.

But on Sunday they found the flags and their fence posts had been graffitied with big, black swastikas.

"I would never imagine that by simply showing support for equality would I be met with such vitriol," Mr Lette-Garvey wrote on Facebook.

"I can't help but just want to cry."

The family have informed police of the incident and managed to paint over the graffiti by Monday.

Ms Lette-Garvey's husband said a number of locals have stopped by to offer to help after seeing the spray paint.
