WATCH: Gold Coast train with doors wide open hurtling along at 100km/h

Video has emerged showing a Gold Coast train travelling at 100km/ with its doors wide open.

Nervous passengers were forced to keep their distance when experiencing the doors not staying shut.

“They would continuously reopen,” a passenger told The Gold Coast Bulletin.

The train was reportedly travelling from Nerang to Helensvale station about 7.45am on Thursday.

Passengers said a Queensland Rail staff turned the power off to get the doors to shut but they reopened when someone pushed the exterior open doors button.

But a passenger said the “train conductor and on-site train assistant didn’t check the train”.

Queensland Rail has been contacted for comment.
