WATCH: Shocking footage of Fortitude Valley brawl

Two men have been hospitalised following an ugly public brawl in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley on Wednesday night.

A man in an orange shirt is seen being dragged on the ground as fists fly.

It’s then gloves off as another man sizes up a one-on-one fight.

The pair throw punches before others jump in and it’s a free for all.

What happened next wasn’t shown on camera but a 19-year-old was stabbed in the stomach.

Another man was taken to hospital after being punched in the face.

Paul Stanley lost his son Matthew from a one-punch attack in 2006 on his 18th birthday in Alexandra Hills.

Stricken by grief, Mr Stanley started the Matthew Stanley Foundation to educate young people on the senselessness of violence.

When Seven News showed him the brawl he said he felt “physically ill” and labelled the fight “ridiculous”.

“We could have looked at one or two people dead there,” he said.

“Concrete is very, very hard.”

Mr Stanley said he’d like to see more cameras installed in Fortitude Valley as police examine security pictures.

Authorities also want to speak to bystanders believed to have filmed the fight.
