Dreamworld boss calls it quits with massive pay-out, reports
The high-profile boss of Dreamworld’s parent company, Ardent Leisure, has reportedly resigned with a $731,000 payout.
Fairfax Media reports Ardent Leisure broke the news at 5.18pm on Friday, before the long weekend, to announce Ms Thomas’ resignation.
She was due to step down into a role as chief customer officer but instead departs with reportedly an entire year’s pay just two years after taking the top job.
The end of Ms Thomas’ tenure comes ahead of a coronial inquest into last year’s fatal Dreamworld ride accident.
Four people were killed with the Thunder River Rapids ride malfunction on October 25, 2016.
Former Nine Entertainment executive Simon Kelly will reportedly take on the CEO role, effectively immediately before Ms Thomas departs on July 1.
She will also reportedly receive a $3,000 a day consultancy for every day she spends in the coronial inquest into the 2016 deaths.
