According to Queensland Police the man entered the residence at around 1.15am on Thursday morning and then entered the bedroom where the 55-year-old woman was sleeping.

The man then touched the woman “inappropriately” causing her to wake, police said earlier on Thursday.

“It’s an older type security door. It’s probably not in pristine condition because it’s an older door and I think now would be a good time to replace it,” the victim continued.

Following the attack the man then fled the scene on foot.

A car was later heard speeding away from the scene.

According to police the 55-year-old woman wasn’t physically injured during the assault.

Investigations into the assault are continuing.
