'They won't stop every child': Mum shares chilling pool fence footage

A Queensland couple has shared chilling CCTV footage to warn others just how quickly young children to sneak into pools.

The Lewis family security cameras captured the moment three-year-old Ziah and five-year-old Zeevah worked together to sneak in a quick dip.

“Zeevah got (on) her toes climbed up but couldn't open it by herself, Ziah grabbed hold of the gate and pulled it open,” shocked mother Juscinta Lewis told 7 News.

Sneaky enough to disobey her parents but smart enough to put on her vest, Ziah zipped up and was paddling away within seconds.

“Zeevah put her vest on, she knows she isn’t allowed in without a vest,” Mrs Lewis said.

After checking the CCTV footage, the Maryborough parents said they were shocked to see how easy it was to crack the state-approved pool fence.

“Practically not much more can be done, ultimately it comes down to adult supervision,” Mrs Lewis said.

“Barriers are there to restrict access, they won't stop every child.”

As for the little troublemakers, they’ve been banned from their beloved pool.

The footage comes the same week two three-year-old's were pulled unresponsive from backyard pools in Sydney.

Both of those children are expected to make a full recovery.
