Three Queenslanders arrested after woman's burnt body found in NSW

Three Queenslanders have been arrested over the death of Logan mother Sabrina Bremer, whose badly burned remains were found on the side of a dirt road in far northern New South Wales.

A 38-year-old Wynnum man, a 28-year-old Woodridge man and a 27-year-old Kingston woman are in custody, Queensland Police have confirmed.

Detectives from NSW and Queensland are completing a joint investigation into the death of the 34-year-old whose body was found at Pollards Road, North Tumbulgum on August 18.

Ms Bremer’s was reportedly last seen alive two days earlier in Logan Central.

Sabrina Bremer's remains were located by a driver at Dulguigan, southwest of Tweed Heads.

The driver initially thought her body was a burning log.

Detectives released CCTV pictures of Ms Bremer in Logan, taken on Monday August 15, 2016.

Ms Bremer is pictured wearing a black jumper with a red t-shirt underneath, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, and bright pink sneakers.

The 34-year-old separated mother from Logan was known to police and was reported missing on Wednesday August 17, a day after she last spoke with her daughter.

As homicide detectives try to piece together Ms Bremer's final movements, former Tweed Shire mayor and Dulguigan resident Max Boyd said the events were a terrible blow to the community.

Mr Boyd, 82, said the isolated cane growing area had seen its share of criminal activity in the past, including vehicle arson and even a murder.

"It's something which people who live in this part of the world don't expect, you only think of those things happening in the cities," he told AAP.

"It's a horrifying thing in any community."

Police said Ms Bremer's body was found badly burnt and her cause of death was so far unknown.

Former Tweed Shire mayor said this area where Sabrina Bremer's body was found has had its fair share of criminal activity.

"It was horrific for the police who attended," Detective Superintendent Wayne Starling told reporters on Friday.

"It was horrific for a member of the public that attended a short time before police."

Det Supt Starling said police were following a number of lines of inquiry, and appealed to anyone who saw Ms Bremer or spoke with her to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
