Police taser man on Queensland highway
Dramatic vision has emerged of the moment police confronted a man in the middle of a Queensland highway after an alleged disturbance at a FoodWorks.
It took a handful of officers to restrain the man who was allegedly armed with scissors.
The 24-year-old is accused of causing a disturbance and menacing staff and customers at a grocery store at Tiaro, south of Maryborough.
Police were told the man had jumped on the counter of the FoodWorks store, allegedly grabbing the scissors and waving them around.
The accused had reportedly entered the store with a 37-year-old friend and asked them to call an ambulance as he claimed he was suffering from chest pain.
When the man fled minutes later, police tried to arrest him and in an attempt to restrain him tasered him twice in the middle of the Bruce Highway.
The 24-year-old has been charged with going armed to cause fear and was due to face court this afternoon.
His alleged accomplice was charged with obstruct police and assault and did not apply for bail.
