Man faces charges over 'golf ball attack' on Pacific Motorway

A 24-year-old man from Burleigh, accused of pelting golf balls at a female driver because she refused to flirt with him on the Pacific Motorway, has been given a notice to appear by police.

Video of the alleged attack surfaced yesterday and a man is now facing charges of wilful damage and endangering the safety of a vehicle by throwing an object.

One woman can be heard in the footage saying: “This is what happens when you don't let men flirt with you.”

It's believed another woman says "Are you actually kidding me?" when the alleged attack occurs.

Police say the alleged incident happened on the Pacific Motorway at Nerang on May 21.

The woman involved spoke to the Gold Coast Bulletin yesterday and claimed: "On Saturday I was driving along the M1 and a guy wound down his window and started waving, blowing kisses and winking. I just ignored him.

"I was driving at 100km/h on the highway and I have a partner — flirting with some guy in a car is the last thing I want to do."

“He started driving like a crazy person, got up close and started pegging golf balls at my car, while yelling at me,” the woman reportedly alleged.
