Fireworks, ammunition and drugs 'seized' in Queensland raid

Police have allegedly uncovered fireworks, ammunition, cash and about $200,000 worth of drugs following a raid at Oceanview in south-east Queensland.

A search warrant was carried out at the property near Dayboro last Thursday.

It allegedly resulted in the discovery of items used in the production and trafficking of dangerous drugs as well as steroids, cash, ammunition, fireworks and dangerous drugs, including methylamphetamines, cocaine and cannabis.

Police say the search was carried out by detectives from Task Force Maxima and the State Crime Command as part of operations targeting the involvement of the Bandidos OMCG in the illegal production and distribution of dangerous drugs.

Acting Detective Inspector Russell Jones from Task Force Maxima said, “We will continue to use our full arsenal of capabilities for the purpose of exploiting every opportunity to proactively target the highest risk outlaw motorcycle gangs and detect their criminal activity."

"These gangs need to understand the Queensland Police Service and Task Force Maxima will be unrelenting in our efforts against those involved in criminal activity.”

A 23-year-old will appear in court on June 20 after being charged in relation a number of offences.

He was released on bail after appearing in court on April 29.

He was charged in relation to trafficking dangerous drug, receiving property obtained from trafficking a dangerous drug, producing dangerous drug (cannabis), possess proceeds of a drug offence and possession of ammunition and fireworks.

A 54-year-old man was charged in relation to a number of offences including, possession of restricted drug, possession of drug utensils and producing a dangerous drug (cannabis).

He will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on June 1.

Police say both men are from Oceanview.

“These arrests once again see illegal drugs being seized from the criminal networks of these OMCGs. These actions and the seizure of illegal drugs makes the community safer," Acting Detective Inspector Russell Jones said.
