Drugs, guns and cash allegedly seized in Gold Coast raid
Two million dollars worth of drugs and cash has allegedly been seized on the Gold Coast, following raids on two storage sheds.
Police will allege they found about 27 kilograms of MDMA tablets with an approximate street value of $1.8million last Friday.
Methamphetamine, cannabis and large quantities of prescribed medication were also allegedly located.
Two guns, ammunition and $426,000 in cash was also found, according to Queensland Police.
“We know drugs like MDMA are responsible for destroying lives across Queensland and we will continue to target anyone responsible for distributing illegal drugs in our community,” said the Inspector in charge of the Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrols, Mick Stenner.
Police from the Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrols carried out search warrants last Friday on two separate storage sheds; one at Varsity Lakes, the other at Burleigh Heads.
A 29-year-old from Miami has been charged with a number of offences, including trafficking of a dangerous drug, supply of a dangerous drug, possession of tainted property, unlawful possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of explosives.
The man is due to appear in court on the Gold Coast charged today over the incident.
