Abducted Qld teen contacts family

Police say there were no overnight sightings of Qld teen Billy-Ann Huxham and her ex-boyfriend Carl Chapman.

A Queensland teenager who was abducted at gunpoint by her ex-partner has made contact with relatives.

18-year-old Billy-Anne Huxham was last seen at a Gilbert Street home at Caboolture on Tuesday morning.

Her family say her former boyfriend went to the house around 6am (AEST) armed with a machete.

He allegedly threatened Ms Huxham before forcing her into the back of a vehicle.

Officers spotted a Silver 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander with the Queensland registration number 789VNI, which they believed Ms Huxham was in, on the Bruce Highway at Kallangur several hours later.

There have been no sightings of the pair since.

Police have serious concerns for Ms Huxham's welfare, Detective Acting Inspector Steve Windsor said on Wednesday.

"With the information we have that possibly firearms are involved, the public - if they could advise Crime Stoppers (of any sighting)," he said.

Det Windsor confirmed the pair were formerly in a relationship and that the man, 32-year-old Carl Garry Chapman, is known to police.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
