Fake agent exploits 'busty wenches' casting call

FIRST ON 7: Several aspiring actresses have been tricked into sending raunchy videos of their breasts to a fake casting agent on the Gold Coast.

The women had responded to a legitimate advert on the Facebook page of Bud Hopes Casting calling for “busty wenches” to work as extras in the Pirates of the Caribbean Five film.

Hundreds of hopeful actresses sent in photos and videos of their ‘treasure chests’.

But some of the women were then targeted by an online scammer who pretended to be an agent from Bud Hopes Casting.

He asked them to send their pictures and videos directly to his email and reportedly told them to "show off your assets, for this audition there is no such thing as showing too much".

Victims say they were tricked by his email address, which was the same as the agency's legitimate contact email, minus one letter.

Brisbane actress Shiloh Maree said she jumped at the opportunity to work on the Hollywood blockbuster.

The 22-year-old sent the ‘agent’ a video flaunting her cleavage before she realised the account was fake.

“It's not a good feeling, I've been taken advantage of,” Shiloh told 7News.

“It's sickening how someone out there is doing this.”

Police have appealed for any other victims to come forward.

They say the scammer could be sent to jail or ordered to pay more than $2000 in fines if caught.

It is the latest drama for the $250-million Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, which is the biggest film ever to be made in Australia.

Earlier this month, a man dressed in a pirate costume, with a live parrot on his shoulder, allegedly crashed the set and held up security with a knife.

The wannabe seafarer fled into nearby bush land, sparking a major manhunt.

He was captured the next day and was charged with one count of going armed as to cause fear.

The 22-year-old will face court on Friday.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is the fifth installment of the multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbuster.

It is due for release in 2017.
