Bikie charged for allegedly supplying drugs to toddler

Bikie charged for allegedly supplying drugs to toddler

A 27-year-old alleged Rebels gang member has been charged with supplying a 2-year-old boy with Methylamphetamine.

Police say they will be alleging the man encouraged the toddler to consume the drug in the crystalline form.

"With these crime gangs, greed and money is their motive and they do not care who gets hurt or what happens to our community," said Taskforce Maxima Commander, Detective Superintendent Mick Niland.

He is among 75 people arrested after police seized cash and drugs after a 14 month investigation into a drug trafficking ring run by outlaw bikies.

Police seized about $500,000 cash and drugs including methamphetamine, amphetamine, MDMA and cannabis with a conservative street value of $5 million.

"Today has been a big win for the Queensland community," said Detective Superintendent Mick Niland.

Eight patched members of the Rebels bikie gang have been caught up in the raids and charged with drug offences under Queensland's anti-bikie legislation.

"At the centre of these charges today is a drug trafficking syndicate being controlled by the Rebels Motorcycle gang," said Detective Superintendent Mick Niland.

Also among those arrested is a 28-year-old alleged Rebels Motorcycle Club member, who has been charged with recruiting for the Tweed Heads chapter.

He has become the first person in Queensland to be charged with recruiting under anti-bikie gang laws introduced last year.

Dozens of search warrants have been executed over the past 24 hours across Brisbane, Pine Rivers, the Gold Coast, Dalby, Gympie and Jimboomba.

More than 200 police from specialist teams in Queensland, NSW and the AFP were involved.

Investigations are ongoing and more arrests are expected.
