Tostee murder: Sex, alcohol and violence in police transcript of recorded conversation
More than an hour of explicit conversation allegedly between a woman who fell from a Gold Coast balcony and the man charged with her murder has been tendered to Queensland's Supreme Court.
Gable Tostee was charged with murder after Warriena Wright fell to her death from the balcony of his apartment on August 8.
In a police affidavit opposing bail, police alleged the transcript of the conversation detailed what occurred in Tostee's apartment in the lead-up to Ms Wright's death around 2:21am.
The pair met on the dating app Tinder and Ms Wright spent several hours with Tostee before she died.
In the recording, a male repeatedly complains about a woman "beating me up" and refers several times to her being very drunk.
There are the sounds of what police believe to be a violent sexual encounter.
About five minutes before the time Ms Wright falls to her death, the male is heard to say: "You are lucky I haven't chucked you off my balcony you god damn psycho little bitch".
Police said the recording was found on Tostee's Sony Xperia phone, although they suspected it was transferred to the phone from an unknown external source.
The affadavit stated: "A review of the audio recording identifies depicts [sic] a male and female socialising. During this recording the male identifies the female as Cletus, which is the user name WRIGHT uses when utilising Tinder."
On Monday, the Supreme Court was told police did not believe Tostee was on the balcony when Ms Wright fell to her death.
The court was told Tostee had been diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum and had been seeing a specialist.
Justice Debra Mullins said it was a reasonably strong case for manslaughter as opposed to murder, but Tostee's bail application was refused.
The case was adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.
