Four teenagers have led police on a 400km chase in an allegedly stolen vehicle, racing down highways from central Queensland before they were caught in the southeast.
The car was allegedly stolen from Rockhampton in the early hours of Saturday and first spotted by police north of Roma around 10.50am.
An attempt to stop the vehicle using road spikes failed when the car drove on to the shoulder and around the device on the Carnarvon Highway. Police called off the pursuit when the vehicle reached dangerous speeds.
The car later allegedly hit a police car when it made a U-turn in front of it on the Leichhardt Highway about two hours later and the chase came to an end about half an hour later west of Chinchilla when the teens abandoned the vehicle.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy and two 13-year-olds, a boy and a girl, soon after and all three have been charged.
Another teenager, believed to be the car's driver, is yet to be located.
