A man and woman have been killed and an elderly woman is fighting for her life after three separate incidents on Queensland roads.
A 53-year-old Mount Isa woman died after the station wagon she was in collided with an oncoming ute about 8.20pm on Sunday in Mount Isa.
Police said she became trapped in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Four others involved in the crash were taken to hospital, two for observation and two for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Earlier in the evening, a 59-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road at Acacia Ridge in Brisbane's south just after 6pm.
The 44-year-old female driver was unharmed.
And a 90-year-old woman was critically injured when the four-wheel drive she was in collided head-on with a station wagon at Lake Macdonald, west of Noosa Heads, about 7.15pm on Sunday.
The woman was trapped and had to be freed before she was taken to hospital, along with a 16-year-old girl, and a man and woman, both 45.
Police are investigating the cause of the crashes.
