Qld man dies days after alleged assault
A man who was allegedly assault with a wooden chair handle has died several days after the incident and police are expecting to upgrade charges following the autopsy results.
The altercation between two men took place in a Rockhampton home on January 28.
It will be alleged one of the men used a wooden chair handle to hit the other once in the head, causing him to collapse.
A witness called emergency services and he was transported to hospital with critical injuries.
A 35-year-old Lakes Creek man is assisting police and is expected to have his charges upgraded once the autopsy is completed.
