Qld man dies after being shot driving ute

A man has died nearly a week after being shot in the neck while driving a ute north of Brisbane, allegedly by one of his passengers.

Police say the 22-year-old died in a hospital on Saturday morning, where he had been in a critical condition since the shooting in the stolen Toyota Hilux in Morayfield on Sunday.

The driver was been shot in the back of the neck, prompting a crash from which three male passengers fled.

A 21-year-old from Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast was on Thursday charged with grievous bodily harm and weapons and driving charges.

He is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on September 26.

Detective have said all four men were known to each other and police.
