The infant's body was found on the side of a road on the Sunshine Coast last November after it fell from the vehicle while being transferred from Rockhampton to a Brisbane morgue.

The baby was reportedly placed on the roof during a transfer between vehicles. The driver didn't realise it had gone until he arrived at the Brisbane morgue.

Mr Bertrand later said he felt for the family and was totally embarrassed.

No conviction was recorded but he was fined $5000.
