Qld doctor stood down on misconduct claims

A senior doctor at Brisbane's Prince Charles Hospital has been stood down over allegations of misconduct.

Director of cardiology Professor Darren Walters was taken off his duties asthe hospital investigates claims of misappropriation in his department.

The Crime and Corroption Commission also received a complaint, The Courier-Mail reports.

A Metro North Hospital and Health Service spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that an investigation is under way but said "due to privacy and confidentiality reasons, we cannot comment on matters relating to individual employees".
