A man who crashed an allegedly stolen car into a bus while trying to dodge road spikes west of Brisbane has finally been arrested, police say.
Officers spotted the car, believed to have been involved in another police incident earlier in the day, in Gatton on Wednesday afternoon.
The driver tried to swerve around the spikes police had laid on the Warrego Hwy, but he lost control of the car and crashed it into a parked bus at Plainland about 2.45pm.
There were no passengers on the bus and the man was uninjured.
He then unsuccessfully tried to steal another car from a nearby motorist, before running away and being arrested.
Police believe the same man was involved in an earlier road incident where a police gun was fired in Toowoomba.
An officer tried to pull over the same car at Harlaxton, but he was forced to take evasive action that hurt his leg.
"A police firearm has also been discharged as a result of the incident," a police spokeswoman said.
Police were speaking with two men. No charges have yet been laid.
