The two-month-old pygmy hippo, housed in a zoo in Thailand, has taken the internet by storm, with many photos of her being turned into memes.

The two month old pygmy hippo, housed in a zoo in Thailand, has taken the Internet by storm, with many photos of her being turned into memes.

However, the zoo's director has revealed visitors have been splashing and throwing food at Muang to spark a reaction.

Speaking to CNN and he said one person poured water on her while another threw a shell onto Muang when she lay on the floor.

In a statement, the zoo added.

These behaviours are not only cruel but also dangerous.

We must protect these animals and ensure that they have a safe and comfortable environment.

In an attempt to control the crowds, the zoo has been forced to put a five minute time limit on visitors keen to see Muang
