Public warned after fake cash found in Qld

Police have asked people to be on the lookout for counterfeit money after a Central Queensland business accepted a high-quality fake $50 note with foreign text printed on it.

Up to $2000 of the fake money may be circulating in the Gladstone area, a spokesman warned on Tuesday.

A 39-year-old man is assisting detectives following a raid on a Biloela address where $8000 in counterfeit cash, weapons, cannabis and drug utensils were found.

Despite the large foreign text printed on the notes, the counterfeit money is good quality and feels almost like genuine currency.
