An Australian psychic has revealed the number one heartbreaking question people asked her when they want to connect with the dead.

Calise Simone – who has given readings for Hollywood stars, such as The Osbournes and actor Rob Schneider – said her understanding of the afterlife is that when we die, we cross over to the spirit world and there’s not really an in-between.

When people have specific questions for a loved-one who has passed, Calise told Yahoo Lifestyle she calls upon the spirit to step forward and then waits until they do.

The Sydney-born woman revealed that while every case is different, the number one question people want to know is if their loved one is in pain.

“Most of the time, people want to know that their loved one is around and watching over them and that their loved one is not in pain,” Calise said. “Because often when we cross, there’s pain involved. “

She went on to say that spirits generally just want to watch over their loved ones and check in and make sure they’re ok.

“Particularly with spouses – at any age but more commonly elderly spouses because that just tends to be the ones who’ve lost partners – they come back to check on the spouse to make sure they’re doing okay,” she said.

“I often find when children have crossed over they come back to check on their parents to help their parents deal with the passing. Just a lot of visitations to let them know they’re still here, let them know that they’ve really just slipped into the next room, they haven’t actually gone anywhere, they’re just somewhere next door.”

Calise said most of the time spirits will tell her things that her client needs to know and she relays it to them exactly.

“So if spirit needs to tell you to go to the doctor and get a blood test, I’m going to tell you that spirit’s saying to go to the doctor and get a blood test,” she said. “Or if spirit says they don’t like what you’ve done with your house, then I’ll say look mum’s coming through and she doesn’t like what you’ve done with the house – and generally the person will laugh because it’s something they know their mum would have said.

“Sometimes intense messages come up but they always come up for a reason and it’s always to help the person. It’s never doom and gloom, its never bad news.”

Calise said she has been connecting with spirits for her whole life and while it was initially confronting waking up as a four-year-old to see people staring over her, she’s learned to deal with it.

“I just have really worked with spirits on such a close level for so long that I’ve understand that when they come to visit they’re here just to say hello and they’re not in a physical body so they can never harm you, that’s never their intention,” she said.

When she decided to take part in intuitive development classes to learn how to switch it off, she realised how strong her connection really was.

“My friends were coming to me asking for readings and then their friends wanted readings and then their families wanted meetings and then I found that I had this gift where I could help people,” she said.

“So I ended up following that path and pursuing it as a career because it was so fulfilling for me and for them.”

When it comes to her skeptics, Calise said she totally understands their trepidation, because she was the exact same when she was growing up.

“I thought all of this was just crazy and that when you die you die and there’s was no afterlife,” she said.

“Obviously my experiences have shaped my opinions and so I encourage everyone to wait until they have a moment where they have an experience and that’s the moment at which they should open up to this world.”

Now, Calise does reading via Skype with clients all over the world, conducts, in-person full length readings and she takes to the stage to bring through messages from the spirit world.

“The spirit world is all around us, so you can tune into the energy at anytime from anywhere,” she said.

Calise’s only Australian appearance will be presented by Kailo Wellness Medispa at The Calile Hotel on Monday March 25th at 6pm.
