Protesters crowd outside police station after Manchester Airport video
Crowds gathered outside Rochdale police station on Wednesday night (24 July) after a video emerged showing a man being kicked at Manchester Airport.
The video, shared widely on social media, shows a Greater Manchester Police officer pepper-spraying a man in the face while another clip appears to show an officer with a taser kicking a man in the face. Following this, he is seen stamping on his head as the suspect lies on the floor with his arms by his side.
Police said three officers were assaulted, including a female PC who suffered a broken nose, and four men were arrested.
A GMP spokesperson added that a police officer had been suspended from all duties and a referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for a full independent investigation.
